In January 2018 I held my first event showcasing what would become a larger collection of Pet Vests with easy-lift handles under the name Mattey’s Mutts. We sold strictly at events such as the Village Fest Street Fair in the heart of Downtown Palm Springs, College of the Desert "COD" occasional Saturdays, and local events benefiting various local nonprofits, in each case donating a portion of proceeds to a local rescue group.
2019 has been a whirlwind year.! In January 2019 I began re-branding as Mattey’s Mutts of Palm Springs to reflect the relationship between our trendy, premium quality, handcrafted, inventive easy-lift handle pet vests, and the Casual, Hip, Upscale-trending Palm Springs lifestyle. Whew!
February, April and May saw MMOPS at the Palm Springs Street Fair, COD, Bianca Rae Foundation charity event at The Gardens on El Paseo, LOVING ALL ANIMALS adoption fair at PGA West, SoCal pet expo in Anaheim, Austin pet expo and Dallas pet expo, Inland Empire realtors first annual Poochella charity event benefiting The Boys & Girls Club & The Palm Springs Pet Shelter.
We did not “paws” over the summer months. I have begun relationships with retailers to carry a limited selection of our Pet Vests, including the delicious Pastry Swan on Highway 111 and Peterson in Rancho Mirage, and Maddy’s Dog Treats in the Oak Glen Village. Discussions continue with other select retailers from Beverly Hills to Malibu. In August we had a very successful booth at the Idyllwild Strong Music and Arts Festival and look forward to future events in this charming mountain village.
With the dogdaze of summer finally in the rear view mirror and desert life returned to normalcy, MMOPS is again at live community and charity events from Bianca Rae’s El Paseo pet adoption fair to Cathedral City’s Winter Fest and Etsy craft fair events in Palm Desert, where you can bring your furry friend for outfitting.

At matteysmutts.com you can read about the company, the product, our beneficiaries, and outfit your small breed dog, cat or puppy, up to 20ish pounds, or buy as a gift for a birthday, pet adoption, the Holliday's, Valentines Day, Mother’s/Father’s Day, wedding/special occasion, etc.
Our handcrafted, locally made, premium easy-lift handle Pet Vests are available in many patterns in five sizes, but only in a small number each. The fabric may no longer be available so if you see a pattern you like, now is the time to secure your purchase. A size chart with measuring instructions is included on the website.
